Miele SEB 228 Power Nozzle Quick-Start Guide
Share
Your SEB 228 uses a motor-driven brush roll to clean carpeting. This guide covers the SEB 228 Electro Plus.
- Start safely. Turn off and unplug your vacuum before attaching the nozzle. Check the nozzle, electric wand, and electric hose for visible damage. Use only with a compatible Miele vacuum.
- Connect the nozzle. Attach it to your vacuum’s electric wand using the connection arrangement shown in the owner’s manual. Press the connection-release foot pedal to release the neck from its upright position for cleaning.
- Adjust the cleaning height. Press the height-adjustment foot pedal until the desired setting appears in the indicator. There are five settings: 1 is closest to the floor; 5 is furthest away. Adjust to suit your carpeting.
- Clean slowly. Switch on your vacuum and move the nozzle slowly backward and forward over the carpet. For rugs with fringe, move from the middle of the rug outward across the fringe toward the floor.
- Switch tools for hard floors. Use your standard floor head or a Miele floor brush instead of the SEB 228.
- Unplug after use. Always disconnect the vacuum from power before changing accessories, cleaning, or performing maintenance.
Removing wrapped hair or threads
Turn off and unplug the vacuum. Carefully cut the strands with scissors along the brush roll’s guide track. Once finished and your hands and scissors are clear, run the vacuum to pick up the cut pieces.
If the nozzle shuts off
Overheating protection may have activated because of overheating or a blockage. Turn off and unplug the vacuum, check for blockages, and check its filters. The manual states that the nozzle will be ready again after about ten minutes.
Important precautions
Use on dry surfaces only. Do not use on deep-pile or long-pile carpeting, or valuable hand-knotted rugs such as Persian or Oriental rugs. Follow your flooring manufacturer’s care instructions. Keep fingers, clothing, and curtains away from the rotating brush. Never vacuum liquids, hot ashes, or flammable materials.
