SEBO E3 Canister Vacuum: Quick Start Guide

Welcome to Your SEBO E3

Congratulations on your new SEBO E3 canister vacuum. This guide covers everything you need to get up and running quickly — from finding your accessories to your first vacuuming session.

1. Powering up your E3 Canister Vacuum

  1. After assembly, press the on/off power knob on the canister with your foot or hand so the blue light comes on. This means the canister is receiving power.
  2. If the vacuum still does not run, check the suction-control slider on the handle (not the hose). Slide it toward MAX to start airflow, then adjust suction to the desired level.

Note: With the handle in its upright locked position, the brush roller will not spin. Press the foot pedal to release the handle into operating position, then press the brush roller switch on the handle to engage brushing.

2. Locating Your Tools and Accessories

Your SEBO E3 ships standard with three on-board tools — a crevice nozzle, dusting brush, and upholstery nozzle — plus the Parquet Brush for hard floors. Some are stored within the canister and can be hard to locate at first:

    3. Changing the Bag

    1. Turn off and unplug the vacuum.
    2. Lift the filter bag release catch and open the filter bag cover on the front of the canister.
    3. Grasp the plastic collar of the used bag, tilt it toward the front of the canister, and lift it out. The bag's self-sealing collar closes automatically to contain dust.
    4. Dispose of the used bag. Do not reuse filter bags.
    5. Slide the front of the new bag's sealing plate vertically into the bag holder, lining it up so the metal spring sits in the collar slot, then tilt it back into place.
    6. Close the canister cover firmly until it clicks shut. The cover will not close if the bag is inserted incorrectly.

Note: Always use genuine SEBO AeraPure bags to maintain filtration performance and protect the motor. Fine dust or fluff can require a bag change before the indicator turns orange, so check bag status periodically at full suction power.

    4. The Bag Full / Clog Indicator

The warning indicator on top of the canister turns orange when it senses a full bag, a clog in the airflow path, or an excessively dirty filter. If ignored, the motor will shut off to protect itself, typically within 6 to 10 minutes.

    1. Turn the power off and unplug the machine.
    2. Insert a new bag, or clear the clog (see Clog Removal below).
    3. Restart the machine. If the indicator comes on again, repeat the steps above.

    5. Clog Removal

Always unplug the vacuum before clearing a clog.

    • Head or brush: Press the tool release button and remove the head or brush, then check and clear the swivel neck channel.
    • Telescopic tube: Remove the head, then remove the hose from the tube. Use a stiff wire or stick to clear the tube.
    • Hose: Remove the handle from the telescopic tube, hold the hose upright with one hand blocking the end, and switch the machine on at full power to dislodge the blockage. Do not insert a wire or stick into the hose — this can damage it.
    • Entrance to the filter bag: Remove the hose from the canister and check the hose neck, suction opening, and filter bag entrance for debris.

Note: If the clog is inside the ET-1 power head itself, refer to the ET-1 power head's own manual for its specific clog-removal steps.

    6. The ET-1 Power Head

The ET-1 power head that ships with your E3 has its own indicator lights, height-adjustment control, and brush-roller service steps. Because these are covered in the ET-1 power head's dedicated manual rather than the canister manual, check that manual (or contact us) for exact settings and brush-roller removal steps for your unit rather than relying on general guidance.

What we can confirm from the canister manual: pressing the brush roller switch on the handle powers the brush roller on the power head on and off, and all indicator lights on the power head turn off when the brush roller is switched off.

    7. Retracting the Cord and Storage

    1. Switch the vacuum off and unplug it before rewinding.
    2. Press and hold the push-button cord rewinder until the cord fully retracts. Hold the plug while it rewinds so it doesn't whip.
    3. Store the canister upright or on its side. The Parquet Brush and other floor tools have a parking tab that slides into the parking groove on the underside or back of the canister for tidy storage.
